We are happy to announce that we finished installing the picture at 255 East Main Street. Wow, what a big difference! Comparing before and after, it looks like two different sights. Yes, that's what we wanted to see.

Installations are never the same. We always face different challenges at each sight. We have to tell you that the sight was absolutely dirty before the installation. You can’t imagine what we had to clean up! This picture was taken at Clean Sweep, which is a great city volunteer event to clean up city neighborhoods. So I felt like I was participating in Clean Sweep even though I’ve never joined in.

The other day, I was listening to a radio program about business management. The guest of the program said that many good managers are always trying to take out negative factors in their companies because they know that even though the company has many positive things, a few negative factors can drive their customers away or their workers’ motivation low. He said, “Negative and positive factors are not the relationship of addition and subtraction. Sometimes just a few negative factors can dominate many positive ones.” That’s a very interesting observation.

On a philosophical level, we are following the same strategy. We are managing the negative factors that make people stay away from downtown. Nobody can enjoy looking at empty, dirty buildings. That’s a negative factor of downtown. Then from here, our ambition kicks in. We do not only want to make them ok, but we want to convert them to beautiful attractions, positive factors to bring people downtown.

The turning point is almost here. We will soon start seeing more people visiting downtown if we can display more pictures. Making that possible, we need more generous sponsors.
